What is a Softub?

A Softub is a soft sided hot tub. It is considered to be the most comfortable spa on the market today. It is constructed of a super high density insulation that is the same sturdy material that boogie boards are made of. The Softub is so sturdy you can sit or stand on the edge. Softubs range in weight from only 35 to 80 pounds Dry, depending on the model. Compare that to the 250 - 500 pounds of a Hard Side Hot Tub. The bottom is constructed of high-density foam so it is soft. Your feet will sink in, giving you traction; the Softub conforms to your shape when you sit down.

Is Softub Economical?
It has been proven that Softub is the most economical spa on the market today. First, the Softub runs on household current (110 v) no special plumbing or wiring is needed. The unique heating system uses heat recovered from the pump motor to heat the water. Electric motors operate at 160-180 degrees. By Converting the wasted heat to usable energy we have eliminated the heating element and its costly repairs and replacement. The sides  of the Softub are constructed of six inches of insulation through the sides. This gives you an R-Value of 64. You also get a lid- included with your purchase. The lid fits snuggly to minimize heat loss. Some Softub customers even use solar power to operate their Softubs. Typical electrical costs are under $7 a month and the Softub stays hot all month long. Even in -20f. Believe me, I live in Missoula and use mine through out the winter in those conditions.

Ozone Keeps The Water Cleaner Longer.
The Softub, like every spa requires proper water treatment.  You must maintain proper pH levels and use a sanitizer to purify the water.  Starting with the 2003 models, all Softubs have an ozone generator built into the motor unit, minimizing the amount of sanitizer needed.

It takes about 10 - 20 minutes to set up your Softub. Plug in the power pack and connect the hose clamps. Fill it with a garden hose, plug it in, put the lid on and in about 24 hours you are ready to enjoy your Softub.

How powerful are the Jets?
The jets are powered by a 1 or 1.5 horsepower pump and motor. These are used to move the water thru the Softub. You may also purchase other optional jets  (under $20) that vary the water flow or give a message action. Do not be fooled into thinking you need a bunch of jets to create a hydrotherapy experience.

How hot can the Softub get?
By law, hot tubs are not allowed above 104 degress. Softub offers that and is always ready for your use. In the summer you can decrease that temperature to a more moderate 90 degrees. The thermostat controls the temperature so you set the temperature where you prefer it. Most Doctors recommend being in a spa for not more than 15 to 20 minutes at temperatures above 100 degrees. Please consult your doctor as to times and temperatures for your Softub.
